FOA Shock Absorbers is a new take on an old idea. The basic design of most high performance shocks are all very similar. Thinking along the lines of “don’t fix what isn’t broken” we didn’t want to change the design of a high performance shock, we just wanted to figure out how to make that shock more affordable. After much thought, design and work, we’ve come up with the answer. Patent Pending FOA High Pressure castings.
High Pressure casting has been around for quite some time in all industries. It allows the precise forming of all kinds of products at an extremely reasonable price and time frame. With our new Patent Pending Process we can make these castings extremely strong and very durable.

Here is a comparison of the properties of  materials used by us and our competitors.

Material-------------------Hardness RB--------Tensile KSI-----yield KSI------elongation % in 2"

6061-0-----------------------------30----------------------18-----------------8-----------------------25-30

6061T4-----------------------------65----------------------35----------------21---------------------22-25

6061T6-----------------------------60----------------------45----------------40-----------------------12

Pressure cast A-380-----------80---------------------47----------------23-----------------------3.5

Pressure cast ZA-8------------95-110----------------54----------------42--------------------- 6-10

A- 380 is what we use for things like our seal head, piston, and spring retainers.
Z A-8 is used in the top cap and lower rod end due to its additional elongation.
Both alloys get an additional additive to further enhance their elongation properties.

The Tensile strength of our castings is greater than in the 6061 used by most of our competitors.

By using our special casting methods, we’ve been able to build a shock that has the performance you’ve come to expect in a higher end shock at a much lower price.
Since our design is like many other manufacturers, our shocks can be rebuilt, serviced or revalved by just about anyone familiar with race shocks. We offer a wide selection of valving options to suit most any vehicle and setup you may have.
Our seals are Buna-N, the same seals used by the large majority of shock manufacturers. We offer an upgrade to Viton seals at a very reasonable price. Viton seals are typically only seen in full race shocks costing many times more than what we sell our shocks for.
We are confident enough in our product to offer a 1-year Warranty against defects in materials and workmanship.
Take a look around our site….I’m sure you’ll agree that we have the best value in off-road shocks anywhere.
